Blueprints Feedback

Hello everyone, did you miss me? We haven’t been doing our usual post at least every week because there hasn’t been much to talk about until Matt’s Monthly Update this week. Keep your eyes glued onto your screen as you wait for that.

We would like you to take a moment of your time and leave a comment below to tell us what you think of the Vitare Blueprints Wiki. We are asking for your participation because we have noticed many users prefer using the forums than Vitare Blueprints. Just tell us what you want to see there, do you like the name, do you need more help guides? With your feedback we will shape Blueprints into something you want to use!

Cheers,

Daniel

Fresh New Look and some updates!

Yes well it’s finally here, our brand spanking new looking blog, what do you all think? There are some tweaks needed to be done here and there but they will be fixed soon! On the graphic side there is not much to say really other then the (hopeful) design of the Vitare website is done, but you know us, no sneak peaks yet! Client side I’m still cooking us up the 3D models and planning our fancy logo reveal for the start of the game!

In other news, yet again Daniel was scared half to death by his toast, which again me and Matt found hilarious. Our frequent pranks on Dan make us feel more like a family, unfortunately he is the young one we all like to bully and scare, bless him.

Possibly in my next blog post there may be some things to show, who knows! So just keep tuned in and remember if you have a good idea to improve the site, comment on this post and we will be sure to read it and possibly think about it for a few seconds (joking of course we take every idea seriously, except Matt that is!)

I’m as excited about Vitare as you all are too, and trust me we’re working our very best to get this game done! It’s going to be a long wait, but it’s going to sure be worth it!

Until next time

Tom

New Contact System

Hey everyone – today I want to tell you about the new contact system update! We have implanted a new contact form into the blog (and it can be accessed via the www.vitare.net/contact link). This means you no longer need to have an email client working on your computer to email us, it is also a faster system and allows us to view your messages more efficiently.

Take a look at it today, go to Contact which can be found in the sidebar or go to www.vitare.net/contact.

Cheers,

Daniel

It’s the weekend, so to give your weekend a kick start, we thought we’d share some music I composed for Vitare. This was originally just for Facebook/Twitter/Newsletter fans/followers/subscribers. We thought we’d finally post it!

Please feel free to leave your opinion below, and tell us what it could be used for.

Forums updated

Hey everyone! Today the forums went offline or around 2 hours. They are now back online and working, so you probably want a nice little list of things we’ve added/changed. Well, unfortunately there isn’t anything new.

We’ve changed the forum directory from /files/forum to /forum and reinstalled the forums. Why? There was an error somewhere which was causing the \\\\\\\\\ error, we have now fixed this and it should be gone forever! Nothing has been lost, apart from the user bars. If you have a user bar, go to User CP then customise and paste the new code into your signature.

The forum is an active community, and always have something new every day to talk about, if you haven’t already register an account today!

Thanks,

Daniel

Adverts are popping up

Hello again everyone, I am writing another blog post today (naughty me!) to tell you about the adverts that are appearing all around the Vitare website. You may have noticed them on the forums, and now on the blog. They will be added onto Blueprints within the next few hours.

Many people have emailed us asking why they are there, well I’m going to answer that. The reason for the adverts is to help Vitare generate some sort of income. This will support our hosting and other plans. One thing we hope it will fund is music we intend to get for Vitare – you’ll love them! But because we are a game, we have to pay for an “extended licence” (x4 the price).

Feel free to click on the adverts if they appeal to you, if they don’t simply ignore them.

Thanks for all your help, and be sure to visit the improved forums!

Weekly Update #2

Monday, June 28, 2010 18:17

Hey everyone its another weekly update from me! as promised, however sadly i cannot offer as much in the light of updates as last week due to the short period of time since such a large update, however i will try and explain what’s been happening.

Firstly lighting has been started, lighting is a hugely important feature in any game as it allows interesting scene designs and layouts to be possible and creates a realistic image of light entering a room and interacting with the objects in the room.

Secondly i have started the styling feature, that allows any object to have its looks changed, it allows different textures and surface types to be applied to objects and really creates a whole range of possible textures for a single object. This feature is also optional in the custom content system, custom items can have their own style maps that lays out where each texture can go.

Finally i would like to give a huge thanks to the community for supporting us this far, and remember to keep on sending us your input, they are a huge help during the development process, and early on is where they are likely to be implemented!

Until next time,

Matt.

Graphics update + Toaster from hell!

Posted in category General

Hey guys what’s up? Tom here for Vitare.net’s very own blog!

This is my first post for the blog and as some may know I like to make a big and comedic entrance however this usually fails.

First off let’s get cracking, on the forum I posted about the furniture list, click  HERE to go to the thread on the forum! I’m basically just asking you to post your ideas on the forum and update the list for me, it’ll save time and help to integrate the community with the game! Another thing, a few people were concerned about the time it will take to make this furniture and that it will delay the release of Vitare.

So, what’s this toaster from hell lark?, Take a deep breath and prepare yourself for a story of shock, horror and extreme comedy.

The other day our innocent worker Dan was making some toast, when unexpectedly the toaster had done  and the toast, with violent force, popped up about 10 centimetres (like normal toasters) giving Dan the shock of his life, causing him to shake and have nightmares. This can not go on, leading toaster manufacturers are now being made to implement anti shock technology into their toasters, such as a 10 second warning siren which sets off fireworks. Below we have an artists impression of this KILLER TOASTER!

toasterfromhellMe and Matt of course found this hilarious and thought we would share it with the world. If your new toaster has fireworks and a new sprinkler system, you know why!

Until next time!

Tom
