Hello, everyone. I'm going to be away from this Thursday till the end of June, so roughly a month and a half (or a half and a month, depending on how you look at it )

I'm not going to be able to work on music for Vitare while I'm gone, but I will definitely work on it as soon as I get back (and remember about it lol)

The earliest I'll probably be back (on the forum) would most likely be June 30th or July 1st, and the latest... anytime after that. But anyway, just thought I'd post about it so nobody thinks I've gone missing. XD

Skill Ideas V2

Hey Everyone

I have a little free time on my hands so I've decided to make another ideas thread Taking into account some of the ideas and comments everybody left me on my original skills ideas thread; I have taken the time to consolidated some ideas from the original post into a threads with other new and exciting ideas for you all. These skills retain the 3 principles of being fun, challenging and rewarding. However, a new feature which I had an idea for is what I am calling a "feat of strength". Once a player has achieved top level in a particular skill, they will be mailed a one use code for an exclusive, practical and untradable item. I believe the feat of strength system will give players even more incentive to become potent skillers. Now on with the list:

Music:
Piano- As a player develops their Piano skill, they learn new tracks and players have the option to tip them for higher amounts.
Feat of strength item- Neon Spill Keyboard. (A keyboard with an neon influenced design). (Comes with an exclusive track that is bound to this object).

Guitar- As a player develops their Guitar skill, they learn new tracks and players have the option to tip them for higher amounts.
Feat of strength item- Neonljus. (A guitar with an neon influenced design). (Comes with an exclusive track that is bound to this object).

Drums- As a player develops their Drums skill, they learn new tracks and players have the option to tip them for higher amounts.
Feat of strength item- Neo-Pad (A drum pad with an neon influenced design). (Comes with an exclusive track that is bound to this object).

Sports:
Table Tennis- Increases the players chance of winning a game of table tennis.
Feat of strength item- Lennie. (Lennie is a robot who plays table tennis at a very high level, his only function is to act as an opponent for table tennis games).

Boxing- Increases the players chance of winning a boxing match. Increases the players chances of winning a fight.
Feat of strength item- Warrior Showdown Cage. (A mixed martial arts cage which has the same function as a boxing ring).

Weight Lifting- Allows the player to bench press higher weights. Makes the players muscles more defined.
Feat of strength item- Bi God! (A golden statue of a bicep).

Home Economics:
Cooking- As you develop your cooking skill, you produce higher quality meals, learn new recipes, burn less food, and cause fewer fires.
Feat of strength item- The Kitchen King. (This object can make any dish, on demand, and to the highest quality in an almost immediate space of time).

Cleaning- A higher cleaning skill allows the player to carry out household chores at a faster pace.
Feat of strength item- La Luminére. (With a flash of light, this object washes all dishes, empties all bins, and cleans every inch of grime on the lot).

Mechanics- This skills makes players more effective at repairing broken objects. It also lowers their chances of being electrocuted and allows them to make modifications to some household objects.
Feat of strength item- XXXXXL Plasma Screen. (As you can probably tell by the name, this is a really big TV set).

Outdoorsmanship:
Fishing- As you develop your fishing skill, you become a more capable fisher and can catch heavier and rarer fish.
Feat of strength item- Kingsley the Carp. (This is a wall mounted carp which players interact with and build a relationship with).

Gardening- Players who develop their gardening skill grow better produce and unlock the ability to grow rarer flowers, plants and trees.
Feat of strength item- Money Tree Seed. (The money tree can be grown over the space of a year, and then harvested daily for between 1 and 1,000 Vitas).

Creativity:
Painting- As you develop your painting skill, you are able to paint more impressive and expensive pictures.
Feat of strength item- Digital Easel. (An easel which is capable of producing artwork and extremely fast speeds).

Dancing- Players unlock new dances as they develop their dancing skill.
Feat of strength item- Dance Dance Evolution. (A dance arcade machine similar to that of Dance Dance Revolution).

Sculpting- This skills allows players to sculpt beautiful pieces of solid art. As you develop this skill you being to sculpt more impressive pieces.
Feat of strength item- The Tinker. (A life size sculpture of a man fixing a car, this object is a parody of The Thinker).

Misc:
Voodoo- This skill allows players to conjure dark and evil magicks. As players develop the Voodoo skill they learn new spells.
Feat of strength item- Nether Portal. (This dark portal allows the user to teleport to the location of any other Nether Portal in the game).

Chess- As a player develops their Chess skill, they have a higher chance of winning chess games.
Feat of strength item- Eugines Table. (This chessboard has artificial intelligence and allows players to challenge it).

Fun little firefox feature

I don't think this will work with other browsers, but you're free to try. If you're using Firefox, go ahead and hold down ctrl shift I. Should have pulled up a little bar at the bottom. On the right side of that, you should see an option for "3D View". click that. Now, i bet you're thinking "How is this 3D? It just put colored lines everywhere...". Click and drag. you can use a scroll wheel or arrows keys to move around. Pretty cool, eh?

Yuck or Yum Game

I just clocked onto the fact that Vitare will not have a fun or social motive. Please try to ignore some of my references to them!

Hey everyone.

It has not yet been established if Vitare will use a trait, zodiac or slider personality system. In my opinion, traits would easily be the best method of customising a characters personality. I have put this thread together to share with you some of my ideas for traits which could be featured in Vitare. To avoid copyright issues, I propose a system of "attributes" and "perks". Attributes function just like traits do in TS3, however, perks act as active abilities that create some sort of effect. Each player may have 5 attributes and 1 perk. I hope the developers take into consideration some of my ideas and possibly use them (Please note that perks have not been featured in this list, I plan to release my perk ideas at a later date!).

Attributes:
Boring:
Passives: Your conversations bore others easily. The fun motive depletes at a slower rate. You are hard to entertain. You yawn persistently.
Unique interactions: "Complain about boredom". "Bore (name)". "Lecture".

Talkative:
Passives: You build relationships quickly. You can repeat the same social interaction without others getting bored of you. Socialising restores fun.
Unique interactions: "Hold amazing conversation".

Pro Gamer:
Passives: You have a higher chance of winning at video games. You enjoy talking about games. You can challenge other to games for money.
Unique interactions: "Challenge to game... 5V, 15v, 150v, 1500V, 20000V". "Critique game".

Materialistic:
Passives: More Vitas result in higher moods. You will not associate with people who are poorer than you.
Unique interactions: "Brag about wealth". "Burn money... 150V, 300V, 500V".

Vain:
Passives: Looking in the mirror restores the fun motive.
Unique interactions: "Talk about fashion". "Critique outfit". "Talk about sales". "Criticise high street".

Attention Seeker:
Passives: You're not happy unless people are looking at you. You are really annoying.
Unique interactions: "Cause a scene". "Cry for attention".

Loves Pets:
Passives: You build relationships quickly with pets. You can have more pets than people without this attribute. You like talking about pets.
Unique interactions: "Enthuse about pets". "Embrace (pets name)".

Hates Pets:
Passives: You refuse to interact with pets. You don't enjoy talking about pets.
Unique interactions: "Spit at (pets name)". "Shout at (pets name)'s owner".

Caring:
Passives: You are good at consoling others. People feel confident talking about their problems to you.
Unique interactions: "Offer advise". "Reassuring hug".

Thespian:
Passives: Life is a piece of drama and you over exaggerate everything. You enjoy discussing the arts.
Unique interactions: "Recite Shakespeare". "Fake faint". "Critique play". "Critique film".

Fire Retardant:
Passives: You will never get burnt. You are more effective at putting out fires.
Unique interactions: -

Grease Enthusiast:
Passives: Unhealthy foods result in a higher mood. Can cook amazing burgers.
Unique interactions: "Enthuse about fatty foods". "Share burger recipe".

Hard Working:
Passives: Jobs pay more. You earn promotions quicker. You can work from home.
Unique interactions: "Enthuse about work".

Evil:
Passives: You get enjoyment from others misfortune. Death is funny. Likes dark rooms. Being nasty results in higher moods.
Unique interactions: "Declare nemesis". "Burn". "Steal Vitas... 1V, 5V, 15V" (Requires victims permission). "Troll Vitare forums".

Dislikes Nature:
Passives: Being outdoors results in low moods. Being around plants or animals results in a bad mood.
Unique interactions: "Complain about nature". "Global warming is a myth". "Kill plant".

Temper Issues:
Passives: Has a higher chance of winning fights. You get annoyed easily.
Unique interactions: "Threaten". "Start meaningless fight" (Requires victims permission). "Freak out". "Shout in face".

Outdoors Man:
Passives: Being outside results in a higher mood. Builds sports skills quickly.
Unique interactions: "Smell plant". "Eat dirt". "Roll in mud". "Enthuse about nature".

Crybaby:
Passives: You can cry tears of joy. Any mean interactions cause you to cry.
Unique interactions: "Have a breakdown". "Sob".

Hates Computers:
Passives: Using computers or playing video games results in a bad mood.
Unique interactions: "Spit on (computers name)". "Complain about computers".

Vegetarian:
Passives: You only eat vegetables.
Unique interactions: -

Disloyal:
Passives: You can cheat in a relationship without feeling guilty. No marriage!
Unique interactions: "Brag about number of partners". "Criticise marriage". "Laugh at proposal".

Flirtatious:
Passives: Flirts and similar social interactions are more effective.
Unique interactions: "Flirtatious dance". "Flirtatious tease". "Innuendo".

Nice:
Passives: You can't be mean to people. Your friendly social interactions are more effective.
Unique interactions: "Pat on back". "Make day". "Thumbs up".

Witty:
Passives: You are a joker and everybody finds you funny. Your humorous social interactions are more effective.
Unique interactions: "Political joke". "Stand up comedy" (people can give you tips).

Seductive:
Passives: Your romantic advances are accepted at lower relationship levels. You can act intimately with others casually.
Unique interactions: "Seduce". "Seductive dance". "Bite lip".

Moody:
Passives: Your mood can change quickly and without warning. You take mean social interactions more seriously than others.
Unique interactions: "Stamp feet". "Cross arms". "Talk to the hand".

Romantic:
Passives: You are always loyal in relationships. Your life goal is to find a soul mate.
Unique interactions: "Declare undying love for (name)". "Write romantic poetry".

Lone Wolf:
Passives: You don't enjoy being around others. You never have the need to socialise.
Unique interactions: "Ignore".

Mean:
Passives: You enjoy having enemies. Being mean results in higher moods.
Unique interactions: "Spit in face". "Intimidate". "Spread rumour about (name)". "Fiendish laugh".

Poor Sense of Humour:
Passives: You don't understand that many jokes. Your jokes sometimes cause offence to others.
Unique interactions: "Tell super funny joke *sarcasm*".

Life of the Party:
Passives: Your mood is always high when partying. Can invite more people to parties. Can ask others to be their +1 when attending parties.
Unique interactions: "Enthuse about parties". "Ask to be +1".

Sporty:
Passives: You enjoy talking about sports. You enjoy watching sports. You build sports skills quickly. You can exercise for longer than others. It takes longer for you to get fat.
Unique interactions: "Flex muscles". "Show chest". "Enthuse about gym". "Brag about benching".

Lazy:
Passives: Exercising results in low moods. You enjoy playing games and watching TV.
Unique interactions: "Complain about exercise". "Enthuse about TV shows".

Paranoid:
Passives: You get very nervous around others. You sometimes scream and faint for no reason. You believe that people try to befriend you for the purpose of a betrayal.

Tidy:
Passives: You never have to be told to clean up. Being in a messy room results in bad moods. Low hygiene results in low moods. You clean quicker than those without this trait.

Passives: Other are never bored by your conversations. You can repeat interactions without penalty.

Good Looking:
Passives: Everybody likes what they see. Others will become romantically interested in you at lower relationship levels.

No Appetite:
Passives: Your hunger motive decays very slowly. Bad/amazing food has no effect on your mood.

Never Jealous:
Passives: You never become jealous of those who are wealthier than you, or those who interact with your partner.

Green Eyed Monster:
Passives: You become jealous very easily, this results in low moods. You are very unforgiving.
Unique interactions: "Vow never to speak again". "Hold grudge".

Heart of Stone:
Passives: Death and break ups have no effect on you. You show little emotion. You are not interested in having a relationship. Your social motive decreases very slowly.

Master of Pool:
Passives: You can challenge others to a game of pool for money. You have a higher chance of winning at pool. You can name your pool table.
Unique interactions: "Challenge (name) to pool...

Light Feet:
Passives: You walk and run at faster speeds than others. Your energy motive decays slower than those without this attribute.

Heroic:
Passives: You are very effective at putting out fires. You are fearless! Everybody gets a higher starting relationship with players with the heroic attribute. You can "take down" plays with the mean and evil attributes.
Unique interactions: "Noble pose". "Take down evil doer".

These are just a few of my many ideas. Please give feedback and feel free to add your own ideas to the list

Sims3.Com Profile

Over my break I have been given the chance to indulge in the new Sims 3 expansion pack, Showtime. The pack allows you to connect with your friends in order to utilize the new SimPort feature. I thought it would be cool if people would want to add each other from here on their Sims3.com page. That way if there are users from Vitare that also have Showtime they can play with each other through the SimPort feature.

Either way, I thought it would be nice to have a thread for people to link their Sims 3.com profiles for whatever reason. Another way to connect, especially since they've allowed them to be more in-depth with more sharing options.

Let me know what you think of the Showtime EP too if you have it!!!!!!!!!

A big thanks to all our members who used the chatroom service while it was online. We really appreciate that some of you enjoyed the feature, and continued to use it up until it was retired.
We will be thinking about adding an instant chat feature back to the website once the time comes. We welcome all ideas, as you know!
What You Need To Know

The chatroom service has now ended and can't be accessed.

We will be taking what we've learnt from this feature, and see what could be done in the future.
